Prerequisites

Goal

We will be setting up a Windows Server 2012 virtual machine and configuring Internet Information Services (IIS) so that we can run some internal websites. In later episodes, you will be provided with some vulnerable websites for this server for now we’re just going to set up the server.

Get Started

Firstly we need to install another Windows Server 2012 VM. I won’t be covering how to do this in this episode but you can check out Installing Windows Server 2012 as a Domain Controller to know how to do that. Firstly we need to add this new machine to the Domain.

Once we have added this new server to the domain we can install the IIS role.

We have now completed installing IIS and it is ready for our vulnerable websites.
